SkyVenture Arizona is the first of a second generation open flow vertical wind tunnel located 40 miles south of Phoenix in Eloy, Arizona adjacent to the largest skydiving center in the world - Skydive Arizona. The 14 foot, 1600 HP wind tunnel includes all of the most recent advancements pioneered by SkyVenture. SkyVenture Arizona opened in August of 2005.
This 14 foot tunnel is the first SkyVenture tunnel to feature a round flight chamber, making it truly 14 feet of working space at its narrowest point. This size is ideal for 4-Way teams and provides the freedom of movement that free flyers have been craving.
The IBA has trained 14 instructors for SkyVenture Arizona and they are using at least 12 of them to keep up with heavy demand. Tunnel time is being bought in large blocks by skydivers and they are also seeing a considerable amount of first time flyer traffic among DZ spectators and skydiver friends and acquaintances.
SkyVenture Arizona in conjunction with Skydive Arizona creates an ideal training environment for formation skydiver and free flyers alike. The tunnel is on the drop zone, the area boasts 360 jumpable days a year, there is a fully outfitted DZ with coaching, restaurant, bar, gear store, rigging loft, bunkhouse, etc., etc… what more can be said.
